The IFI Irish Film Archive holds, along with its moving image and document collections, an array of objects and equipment related to filmmaking.
The IFI Irish Film Archive presents a sample of material relating to Cathal Black’s work. As well as holding all of his films, the Archive has a range of supplementary material within the Paper Collection relating to Cathal Black’s work and career. This material encompasses his role as director, producer and activist.
One of the most important and substantial document collections held by the IFI Irish Film Archive is that of director Neil Jordan. The materials are now held across both the IFI Irish Film Archive and National Library of Ireland and are accessible to researchers wishing to study Jordan’s career.
The Radharc collection totals some 2,340 cans and 2,093 broadcast quality tapes that were transferred from founder/director Fr. Joseph Dunn’s house to the climate-controlled vaults of the Archive in 1998.
